About Professor Nomad

I am an independent legal researcher and writer working at the intersection of law, technology, and everyday life. My work is built around one idea: legal knowledge should be practical, accessible, and genuinely useful to the people who need it most.

I hold an LLB from Staffordshire University and an LLM in AI and Emerging Technologies from Keele University. I write as someone who lives the issues I cover - my family and I live full-time in a motorhome, navigating the legal and practical realities of nomadic life in the UK.

What This Site Is

This is the permanent home for my serious, long-form work: white papers, research articles, case studies, and in-depth guides. Content here goes deeper than a newsletter or blog post - these are pieces worth putting on record.

For regular articles, explainers, and updates, visit my Substack, where I publish across four areas:

  1. AI and Technology Law - EU AI Act, AI governance, and practical legal guidance for founders and developers.
  2. Off-Grid Technology - Meshtastic, solar systems, Reticulum, and tools for self-reliant living.
  3. Vehicle-Dwelling Legal Rights - Practical law for van life, motorhome living, and life on the road.
  4. Consumer Rights and Debt - Limitation periods, DSARs, T&Cs analysis, and challenging creditors.
